EcmaScript
ECMAScript is a standard for scripting languages, including
JavaScript, JScript, and ActionScript. It is also best known as a
JavaScript standard intended to ensure the interoperability of web
pages across different web browsers. It is standardized by Ecma
International in the document ECMA-262.ECMAScript is commonly used
for client-side scripting on the World Wide Web, and it is
increasingly being used to write server-side applications and
services using Node.js and other runtime environments.

JavaScript
JavaScript, often abbreviated as JS, is a programming language
that is one of the core technologies of the World Wide Web,
alongside HTML and CSS. As of 2023, 98.7% of websites use
JavaScript on the client side for webpage behavior, often
incorporating third-party libraries. All major web browsers have a
dedicated JavaScript engine to execute the code on users' devices.

TypeScript
TypeScript is a free and open-source high-level programming
language developed by Microsoft that adds static typing with
optional type annotations to JavaScript. It is designed for the
development of large applications and transpiles to JavaScript.[5]
Because TypeScript is a superset of JavaScript, all JavaScript
programs are syntactically valid TypeScript, except additional
type-check.

JavaScript XML (JSX)
JSX (JavaScript Syntax Extension and occasionally referred as
JavaScript XML) is a JavaScript extension that allows creation of
DOM trees using an XML-like syntax. Initially used by Meta for use
with React, JSX has been adopted by multiple web frameworks. Being
a syntactic sugar, JSX is generally transpiled into nested
JavaScript function calls structurally similar to the original
JSX.

Single Page Application (SPA)
A single-page application (SPA) is a web application or website
that interacts with the user by dynamically rewriting the current
web page with new data from the web server, instead of the default
method of a web browser loading entire new pages. The goal is
faster transitions that make the website feel more like a native
app. In a SPA, a page refresh never occurs; instead, all necessary
HTML, JavaScript, and CSS code is either retrieved by the browser
with a single page load or the appropriate resources are
dynamically loaded and added to the page as necessary, usually in
response to user actions.

JavaScript at Frontend
While writing web pages and apps, most common things are
manipulating the document structure and making network requests in
some way. This is usually done by using the Document Object Model
(DOM), a set of APIs for controlling HTML and styling information
that makes heavy use of the Document object and XMLHttpRequest
Object. In this courses we'll look at how to use the DOM and
XMLHttpRequest in detail, along with some other interesting APIs.

JavaScript at Backend
Node.js is a cross-platform, open-source server environment that
can run on Windows, Linux, Unix, macOS, and more. Node.js is a
back-end JavaScript runtime environment, runs on the V8 JavaScript
engine, and executes JavaScript code outside a web browser.

JavaScript REST (HTTP/s)
Representational state transfer (REST) is a software architectural
style that was created to guide the design and development of the
architecture for the World Wide Web. REST defines a set of
constraints for how the architecture of an Internet-scale
distributed hypermedia system, such as the Web, should behave. The
REST architectural style emphasises the scalability of
interactions between components, uniform interfaces, independent
deployment of components, and the creation of a layered
architecture to facilitate caching of components to reduce
user-perceived latency, enforce security, and encapsulate legacy
systems.
